Hi all!
I see three different areas which are partly confused in this debate:
* The quality of the electronics (circuit design, components)
* The quality of the hardware. (connectors, jacks, knobs and pots)
* The design and quality of the actual case (panel lettering etc.)
I'd say expect to spend as much money on the hardware as on the electronics.
The mere looks of the synth isn't going to compromise its functionality,
where
as the two other factors do.
