Hi Dave!
I used bc550/560 general purpose transistors... sounds good.
you may also want to search the archive for recent discussions about more 808
part substitions.
my 808 schematics scan has this split/poor quality too...sorry

Thema: [sdiy] TR-808 hats
Hi List,
I'd like to clone the open/closed hat voices from an 808. I was wondering
if there are any specially chosen transistors in that circuit, or if
general purpose (2N390x) is ok.
I see that they call for NPN: 2SC945(P) PNP: 2SA733(P) and Q23-Q26 are
2SA1015(GR). I'm not familiar with Japanese semiconductor numbers, so I'm
not sure what will be suitable to use as replacement.
Additionally, I'd like to know if any list members have a good quality scan
of the schematics on their site... and perhaps a PCB scan. The schematic
that I have has the hats split across 2 pages, and it's a little difficult
to read a few portions of it.
Thanks everyone. If I get this sucessfully cloned, I'll put schematics
parts list and PCB diagram on my site
