Well, the stop, start and reverse functions are available as is.
Other buttons will need some DIY to connect them to the outside world.

It is. The footswitches are way to rugged to operate by hand.

what I meant was:
once you managed to connect the box to the outside world,
where you can operate it through remote switches, you can
decide to control it with a computer, in which case a midi
to cv interface is nice. Then you need to go from
cv to switches. A relais is the fifties sollution.

Sounds French to me, but is might be the Dutch word for
a electro-magnetically operated switch.
