Beware that the 4051 CMOS ic is being run from across the dual rails.
This means that you would have in theory 36V volts across a device that
is rated at 18V max. You may want to, as I did, take the -ve supply
pins, pins 7 and 8, of the 4051 to ground and not the -ve supply.
