ADSR's and Trigger.

It's been my experience that the Keyboard's V-Trig. originated as the
buffered signal used for a keyboard's Sample and Hold. As such it's doesn't
precede but actually trails the Gate by a few micro-seconds.

I would expect V-Trigs at ~ 5V but i'm sure this has been all over the map.

The ADSR "Re-Trigger" was characteristic that differentiated your Mini-Moog
from your 2600. Gate Driven ADSR is good when you are trying to "envelope"
a "phrase". The Re-Trigger ADSR "envelopes" each note activation good for
what used to be called a "lead".

There is a MIDI2CV unit out on the WEB somewhere that pulses the Gate
momentarily with each note activation (to re-trigger). I believe this is in
response to trying to retrigger a MOOG unit which provided only a S-TRIG
env. input.

regards,
p
