[sdiy] My new Polysix

I found similar problems in mine:
Buttons - they are common tactile switches (not sure if I get the
name right). Those square ones with 4 pins and round plastic button
in the middle, but the big size, 10x10mm. They are encapsulated in
plastic holding, which holds the buton with led you see on front panel.
You must desolder it completely (together with LED) remove the switch,
put new one in and solder it back. Take one broken out to see exactly
how it looks like and take it to shop to compare button heights
Pots - they are with extended leads, soldered vertically to PCB
being about 2-3cm apart from mounting plate. I used standard pot
and simply wired it to PCB. Works great.
And I must admit Poly6 is lovely synth. I have 2 of them :)

""Hi List,
""
""I just bought a Korg Polysix on ebay for $207(US)...
""Cosmetically it's in
""GREAT shape, and the previous owner removed the battery
""before it leaked
""and caused trouble (Yea!). I've visited Old Crow's site and found
""solutions to most of my repair questions.
""
""The Polysix needs a new lithium battery installed and some
""key contacts
""need cleaning (both of which are addressed on Old Crow's
""site). My only
""questions involve the Program, Bank and other similar
""buttons... Some are
""dirty and not very responsive (need a little wiggling to get
""them to work).
"" Can you clean these switches? Are there sources for new ones?
""
""Also there's a few scratchy pots... are these still available
""anywhere?
""I'd rather replace them than clean them if possible. I also plan to
""replace all of the electrolytic caps... a quick little
""restoration, and
""this is going to be a great synth...
""
""Thanks for any advice you can offer. I haven't opened it up
""yet (can't
""stop playing with it long enough to take it apart!!) I
""figure that $200
""was a steal for this keyboard.. what do you guys think?
