[sdiy] LFOs Revisited ( XR2206 anyone? )

I'm currently building Tony Allgood's Midi/CV box to control my Minimoog
and while I was looking over the schematic, it came to me that it'd be
hella easy to feed an LFO into U14 where the pitchbend and offset are
summed.
So I that brings me to one of my playtoys, the XR2206. ( also the MAX038 ).
For a manually controlled LFO it looks spiffy and the circuit would be
dead simple and I've looked over the Archives and the only complaints seem
to be voltage controlled linearity, plus it has shedloads of waveforms
( no ramp, but thats easy enough to make ). Before I go and cook up a
circuit board for this thing, someone wanna talk me out of it?
I picked the 2206 over the MAX038 simply because it goes to .001hz which
I'm not certain would be entirely usefull but it'd be neat to have labeled
on the front... :-)
