wow! that sewing machine thing sounds really cool!  got any pictures of it?

I'm in NY, and not too many thrift shops here, not when compared to the west.

I was in an electronocs store in the city yesterday and the guy was telling 
me that in cali electronic stores are everywhere, where as in NY there are 
like two.  this guy mainly deals with studios repairing analog gear (he said 
it not me!!) and corporate computer stuff.  get this, one resistor $3.95, one 
capacitor $9.00.  corporate dollars need it now and they keep them in stock 
for them.  he said it was the only way an electronic store could stay in 
business in manhattan.  and it's true, aside from radio shack, there are only 
a handful left.

 my fucking jaw dropped.  needless to say I didn;t get anything, and they guy 
knew that as a hobbiest, I wasn;t looking to spend that kinda dough.

cool guy though. 

we get some thrift stores here, lots a luggage and stuff.  I'm going to keep 
a good eye out for useful shit.
