I do architectural drawing for a living... and I use AutoCAD every day. I
have looked everywhere for good vectorizing software, and have found
nothing that works well. I often have hand drawn things from interior
designers, etc that I tried to vectorize and import into AutoCAD... nothing
I've tried gives good results. In the end, I usually just import a BMP and
overlay it onto my drawings.

I called several local architects, and none of them could recommend
anything either. They said that all of the software they tried worked
rather poorly (including expensive commercial programs).

Hate to rain on your parade.
