Hi Everybody (boy, he gets a lot of mail...)
I think that companies like Raxxess ect. make rack rails ready made...
Check with Mars Music, Musicians Friend, etc.
Or you can drill and tap your own. If you have a drill press and a little skill
its easy.
There are also cabinet manufacturers like Cabtron, Emcor, etc... who assume you
have a major automotive budget, eh ??? They have steel rails, with clear holes
that
accept these little clip nuts used also by...
SKB cases... I'd think seriously about using their cases. I did my whole studio
in them when I moved (the particle board stuff was BEAUTIFUL but way too heavy).
The Pop-up mixer case is nice and a lot of MOTM systems use that as a package.
I think the pop-up is about $150... its money well spent. I'd go for DIY
lawn-mowing, then buy the case.
If you want to make a easy wood case, look at the formica covered particle board
shelf material. They come like 9" , 12" wide by 2', 3' 4' long... pre finished.
I made a nice rack with these, and some metal clips that come in angles and
tees, etc... but HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY...
Good luck !
