I've long stopped etching pcbs in my kitchen (more or less since
I married, and the kitchen sink found some more creative uses),
but I thought I should pass this along:

A friend recently told me his ultimate method of creating the
masks for exposure with overhead foil, but not with a laser 
printer. His secret weapon is a Paint Jet set for "glossy paper"
and then printing on overhead foil. (I have *not* tried this
myself, but it makes sense when laser printers are not dense 
enough.)

Isn't the Copper the real problem ? FeCl isn't toxic,
but the Copper is ...
