It might be worth contacting www.organservice.com and ask for a suggestion.
That
company sells parts for Kimball, Conn, Lowrey, and Thomas organs. They might be
able to supply a complete organ keyboard from one of the many models they
supply parts for. However, it might cost more than cannibalizing an old organ,
if you are lucky enough to acquire a broken old organ. Then again, a keyboard
from this company would be a new one, and not need any restoration work
performed on it.

I've always wondered if anyone on the list ever went so far as to make their
own keyboard. I mean literally carve the keys out of wood, mount switches on
them, etc. Some of the best organ keyboards are still made with wooden keys.
I've seen some very nice looking keyboards built this way, and they had a very
nice feel to them as well. Has anyone on the list ever tackled this sort of
challenge?

Later,
Glen
