I used wire-wrap sockets with the caps built in on this guitar synth board
I'm building. I like wire wrapping because you can fit a lot more stuff on
to one board, and it's easy to change it. I've never had a problem with the
sockets. On the chips that have non-corner power pins, I soldered caps on
myself.
