The best deal on 1N4148s I can find is the Radio
Shack catalog that offers 50 for $2.98 or about 
$.06ea.....Well that's just not good enough!! EFM
is pleased to offer 1N4148s to the DIY community
for $.02ea! Get 46" of diodes on reel tape (about 
250...more or less a few..;-)  for $5.00
