CS-80 for sale in CT

CS-80 for sale in CT

2006-08-26 by Christian Martirano

I am the original owner and the CS-80 has been kept in my studio. It was
used for some gigs back in the 80s but has remained in my home studio (smoke
free) for last 15 years. It has some wear on the tolex and the metal clips
that lock the lid down are missing from the lid. The rear hi/lo gain switch
is a bit flakey but other than that, it is clean. I have the original legs
(no leg bag though), a copy of the manual, and a few extra light bulbs for
the illuminated tone select switches. My legs are missing the original
screws that attach the top of the stand to the bottom of the CS-80 but I
have generic hardware screws that I use.

I also have an Oberheim Matrix 12 with the separate outs in mint condition.
Again, I am the original owner have the original box, manual.

I am sad to part with these items but I have two kids in college and they
just sit here doing nothing (the keyboards, not the kids).

Make an offer if you are interested. I know the value of these items as I
was director of product development for Kurzweil Music Systems for over 12
years (K2000, K2500, K2600, PC88 et.). I now work at M-Audio. I will keep my
Super Jupiter and MIDImoog for now.

Hi Christian

Is there any way you would be interested to ship the
cs80?? I am very interested in it but am currently in
Los Angeles. Of course I do understand it would be
expensive to ship but would be willing to pay ..

Many thanks and regards
Steve Sloan

Yes, sell it to Steve (so I get to play with it...)! I wish I could
help with a shipping suggestion. If it was going the other way I know a
great place that crated up my old CS-80 and shipped it to the U.K.

If you are an original owner of a cs80 and work at M-Audio....You must
know poly AT and how important it is musically....Could you resurrect
polyphonic aftertouch (the most important controller) in your controller
line...I have found lots of soft synths and hardware moduals that
receive poly At info.....I will pay extra for this feature.....BTW I
find the keybed of a lot of m Audios line is a little sloppy from side
to side and the key corners are too sharp for manual key slides(tears at
the skin)

For shipping a CS-80, try http://www.cavalier.ca/index.asp
I have used them for many heavy industrial shipping jobs.

Polly after-touch - Re: [yamahacs80] CS-80 for sale in CT

2006-08-27 by David Rogoff

Laurie,

that's a great idea. Unfortunately, I don't give it much of a chance,
but it's certainly worth trying since we have an "inside" via
Christian. I tried contacting Edirol/Roland and M-audio a while back
but didn't get anywhere. If Clavia would make a version of the Nord
Modular with poly aftertouch (and their pitch stick) I'd be in heaven...

Heh, I'd be happy even if anybody including M-Audio would try the velocity-waveform that was implemented into the 80 , it really gives feeling to the playing...
As for the pitch control, David, you like Clavia's pitch stick? I always found that uncomfortable , surely less comfortable than a ribbon. In any case, there's a guy in Italy that produces ribbons with auto center-cs80 feature, and those can respond to aftertouch too; if you want to, look for at www.sknote.it , its price is around 170 Euros..
Sorry for the occasional spam ;-)

I agree. My MIDIboard works great, but if it dies and M-Audio offers
a P-AT controller, I will buy it.

All that said...
What is going on with CME ?
As seemingly the smaller more independent
manufacturer would be more a likely designer
of such a keyboard.
Thoughts..... J D
