Help...please?

Help...please?

2006-04-02 by system_700

New to this group and need help getting my CS-80 repaired. Anyone know
of anyone who would just repair the aftertouch on my synth? I could
send the aftertouch board...

Welcome to the group!

I hope you can get some help fixing up your CS-80, but sometimes it can
take a while. What's wrong with it? One key? Several keys? A whole
octave? Why do you think it the aftertouch board and not the TSB
boards? Have you put a voltmeter on the output of the aftertouch
sensor? Any, of course, where are you located?

David

Thanks for the reply. The aftertouch went out across the whole board.
When I first bought it, it was out, then turned on "magically" after
warming up. I have not put a voltmeter anywhere yet. :-) Can you
advise where to put it? I have the schematics. I'm in Detroit.

Thanks...

I guess it's the CMOS-ic's. I had the same problem: after I while the
aftertouch came to life and died again. I had all cmosses replaced and
capacitors added, as mentioned in old-crow's website, and after that
the aftertouch was fine. There are about 70 cmos-ic's, it will cost
some 70 or 80 USD including sockets.
good luck !

Thanks eric...do you have a source for the parts, and detailed
instructions as to where to solder the capacitors?
