This can be a very CS-addict thing but I realised there is a peculiar behaviour in the envelope of the ringmodulator of the CS series : when you set SPEED and depth at full, and set DECAY at full, you can plainly hear that , when the speed reaches its peak ( 2450Hz ) the envelope doesn't decay immediately...there is something like a hold time at the beginning of Decay stage which , depending on the calibration, goes from 0.5 to 0.8 seconds; after this supposed hold time the voltage begins to go down linearly but with a very smoothed transition, covering about 10 to 12 seconds with the so-called hold time included.
I can only make guesses about this behaviour; first there is no dedicated AD(R) envelope , but only a normal iG00159 envelope chip cabled to have just the A and D times tweakable and with a fixed release time of 250mseconds; anyway the main fact is in the supposed hold; my guess is that this is generated by a not-so-well calibrated voltage output between the SPEED parameter and the envelope and its VCA; being the output of SPEED of a slightly higher value, this little excess could have an influence on the Decay parameter...the result is this hold time which lets the RM-through envelope sound resemble to a scream or a lament....anyone can confirm or refute this?
