Help my CS80, please

Help my CS80, please

2013-08-21 by jesus

Hi, group!

My otherwise awesome-looking/working has lost one of its 8-voice polyphony on the upper row. The only remaining thing is the sub oscillator (sine wave). When layering it with the lower layer this is barely noticeable, but Hell, I want it fixed. What could it be? Is it an easy fix? Anybody wan to offer your expertise? I love this instrument so much that I would not mind a cross-country drive to have it fixed!

Thanks!

JD

Could be simple. Maybe not :). Just to be clear: you're saying one of the 8 voices in Channel I doesn't work right. But that voice does work for since wave (which is not sub oscillator). So you mean that sawtooth and pulse don't work on that voice, right? How about noise? Does that work? If noise works, it's probably the wave shaper chip. If no noise or saw or pulse, could be either of the filters or related VCAs. Should be very quick to trace with an oscilloscope.

David R has it right....  if noise works and square/ saw don't, it is most likely between the oscillator chip and the waveshaper.... If noise also doesnt work it is in the filter stage or the VCF amp ...

Hi,

Thanks for the response. The pulse, sawtooth or noise do not go through....only the sine wave. What could it be?
