SY-1 problem

SY-1 problem

2012-05-01 by papinje

Hello.
the touch control in a SY 1 does not work. With TC sensitivity potentiometer at its maximum, the touch controlled effects go to the maximum, but are not modified by the key pressure.
Inside the machine, the lamp is lit, the "shield" moves well. What to check? How can I test the light variable resistor?
Every help is appreciated…
Fernando

I seem to have the same issue with my YC-30 and YC-45D organs.

I can´t actually tell whether it´s an issue or not as I never had any other YC to compare it with...

With a meter on ohms. I would disconnect the LDR from the circuit whilst checking..!

Cannot say what the spec should be but if there is no touch sense - there will be no meter movement...and there should be "some".

Cheers,
TOM

Thanks;
I have done it, Tom,
after being disconnected, the light sensitive resistor varies from 195 Ohm (no pressure) to 175 Ohm (max pressure)
Is it correct in your valuable opinion?

Personally Fernando, I think that your LDR is faulty - going off your findings. That is just a 20 ohm swing.

Let me get round to it and I'll try and check the LDR in my CSY-1 that I am converting here. It should be the same. I do know LDR's are many and varied, so you will need the right one, but they are readily available.

You're in no particular rush for this?

Cheers,
TOM

If it's the same one as the CS50/60 I have one.
