CS80 hoax on eBay?

CS80 hoax on eBay?

2005-06-23 by Wavecomputer360

There´s currently a CS80 for sale on eBay UK, the seller has zero feedback and even though the pictures he sent me look authentic it seems to me that these pictures were hacked from another account. His replies to my semi-serious questions seem a little flakey, too:

Hi there,
The CS have the Temperature Stabilization upgrade and the Wah button work properly .Serial # :1655.  The capacitors in this synth need to be warmed up fully before the tuning will stay in which is why I get those off notes before the machine is fully warmed. If you buy the synthesizer please leave it on for about a half hour and then let me know if the same problem still occurs. Comes with the legs and pedals, volume, manual. Other than this it works and sounds perfect.

If you offer me 750 GBP I will sell you the synthesizer. I will make the delivery via UPS service or Fedex and I pay those costs but you must pay the wire transfer cost via money gram .

Thanks and I'm looking forward to hear from you !

Sounds to me like A.V.O.I.D..! - I'm currently in negotiations with a
similar individual regarding a Mini Moog - can't tell yet if he's a
scammer. I've insisted on a 'cash on collection' and I want to view
before buying ... etc.

Might be worth while if I can get those out of him.

Cheers.

I recieved more Mini Moog spam off eBay than I care to admit, and some of
this is done really cunningly. I had to look twice in order to figure out
there were actually pictures of two different Mini Moogs thrown together. In
case of doubt, go and collect it yourself... and bring a couple of biker
friends with you to protect both you and your wallet.

Yes, definitely something to avoid, especially since
it's pretty clearly against e-bay policy to barter
with a person for offline for an auction that's
current.

Good Site

2005-06-25 by Dave Case

I have found a really good web site for selling and trading. I want to share it with everyone. The site is http://www.MYDREW.com ; They have a really good feature where you can trade with friends and friends of friends. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

Do you Yahoo!?

Sorry about this folks. I've warned the sender that this kind of stuff
isn't allowed here. It might have been ok to mention a trading site,
but this guy did this as his first post to the group. On top of that, I
took a look at the site, and they don't even have a category for musical
instruments!

If I get another email like this from the same user without a OT in the subject line he will be taken off the list.
I dont mind the occasional off-topic if it will benefit the group, but please put OFF-TOPIC or OT:FOR SALE etc in your subject line.
So far this list has been really clean, so I want to keep it that way.

As for the Yamaha CS80, CAVEAT EMPTOR- I would NOT buy this unless it could be done with ESCROW, COD or some other safe method.
DO NOT SEND WIRE TRANSFERS TO ANYONE- that is a sure fire way to lose your money. We have seen it before.

Hi Group...I've found a really good site for weight
loss!
Its called www.eatless.com
You can really take the weight off by just not
eating!..and you can
do this easier with the help of my shameless
plug...because I just join
groups like the Yahoo CS-80 to plug my web site.

Got it?.....
Bring somethiong to the table before you start
plugging
your own self interests...that seems fair.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!!
Kind Regards, JD
