Yamaha CS80

I am trying to find a couple of parts through Digikey's website but I cant find them because i am fairly stupid.  I am trying to find IC21 and IC22 on the KAS board.  The numbers on the two 8 pin chips read 4558DV JRC 8011.    
I never know what portions of the alpha numeric part numbers I need to pay attention to.

Also, I am looking for the part number for two other chips on Digikeys website.  They are the 4069P (not the 4069UBE chip) and 4050P chips on the KAS board.  Those are IC6 and 7 on the KAS board.
I am making a pretty large order on digikey and would like to find the right part no. for the three components I listed above.  

Can anyone spare some time to help me out.

these. I use TI chips for replacing those JRC ones found in tonnes of

Alright, my order is about ready, but I am thinking I should probably ask this question in order to take cut my order price down by 90%.  I think it was old crow's website that recommended using this part numberED2101-ND    IC SOCKET W/CAP TIN MS ST 14 PIN

I got some of the sockets with caps a few weeks ago. When I redid my
CS80 a few years ago, I just soldered in caps myself, which was a lot of
work. If I did it again, I'd probably use the sockets with built-in
caps for about every 4th chip. The 14-pin with cap (Digikey ED2101-ND
) are $3.26 each for 10. The 14-pin without cap of the same quality
(ED90033-ND ) are $1.02 each for 10.

One pain with the CS80 is that the spacing between the rows on the
circuit boards is slightly more than the standard 0.3". With bare DIP
ICs, you can bend the leads to fit, but the sockets won't fit without
breaking them at the top and bottom.

Hi Steve,

I am using Mill-Max gold plated sockets for all CMOS. With decoupling capacitor they are quite expensive.

I would avoid using cheap sockets to be honest. You are restoring a piece of equipment that is worth around $10,000+ if it works perfectly. A couple of hundred dollars on sockets and capacitors is minimal when compared to the value of the unit.

I can get you part numbers if you like.

Actually my instrument is worth a lot less. I havent been blessed with a cs80 yet. Instead I have two CS50's. By the way, has anyone ever been able to add extra voices to a cs50 using spare cs 50 components?!?!? Eh its just an idea.


On the note about ordering parts, I just put my order in. But I couldnt find any sockets with caps on them for my 8 pin sockets. It looks like they arent even made by anyone. Not sure why. For the 8 pin sockets for the portamento IC's I had to order some sockets without caps.

At least then you don't have almost endless boards and sockets to deal with (CS80 can be quite daunting, especially the top side circuits)

The CS50/60 does not have that many CMOS when compared with the CS80 (no polyphonic aftertouch). Also, there is already decoupling on the boards (The 0.1uf ceramics) and i would not use the sockets with the capacitors unless needed.

To my knowledge it is not possible to add more voices. I have not attempted nor will i in the future.
