Merry Xmas everyone - Oh and a fault...!

Merry Xmas everyone - Oh and a fault...!

2010-12-24 by Quazimodo

Hi everyone.

Hope you all have a very Merry Xmas and a great New Year!

I know I was hoping to - only CS80 fate has intervened yet again! Why do all these things happen this time of year ... at least for me they seem to.

Just been playing my CS80 and everything was fine. She warmed up nicely and was spot on in-tune. Then I had to leave her for half an hour and when I returned one voice was playing approximately 2 octaves low!!

The corresponding voice on the other channel is fine - so I am suspecting an 'M' board problem.

Anyone here have any idea what this could be, just to go like this all of a sudden - before I dive in, also any checks I should make first?

I remember when I got this '80 one voice was wildly out of tune (low) and I thought at the time it would tune in... but it turned out to be a VCO chip. Hoping it isn't that this time though.

Cheers,
TOM

[yamahacs80] A song featuring a lot of CS-80(as well as an album)

2011-01-04 by rj krohn

hi all, hope you had a good holiday.
thought i'd pass along a link to you all to a song that features a prominent amount of CS80. if you go to the below link, and select The Insane Warrior, "We Are The Dooryways", there will be a song called "Then You Hear Footsteps". the only tonal things are a horn section and CS80.(incidentally, all the horn parts were written on the cs80, and then replayed- a demo exists somewhere on my hard drive of the entire song just cs80 and drums).
http://rjd2.bandcamp.com/
its a free download, fyi. its from a side project album i did that has a GANG of cs80 all over it. (forgive what may seem like a self promotion post, i really just thought CS fans would dig it, and its free).

best, rj
