Hi,

Does anyone know where to get 3140T metal cans? I have no problem finding the DIP packages, but I'm worried running wires to an opamp like that might create nasty oscillations...

Also, any idea which bridge rectifiers those are in the CS-60/50 PSU? With the red paint on one side? They've only got 3 legs, I thought they had 4...

Thanks a bunch,
Cooper

Good timing - I just took this picture the other night:

DIP 3140 chips using wire-wrap sockets to fit the old TO-8 holes. Not my work, but looks very nicely done.

Interesting... I did something similar in my 50, with wires soldered to a
standard DIP socket. Now that I've got a 60 with twice as many of these I
was looking for something more elegant. These wire wrap sockets look
perfect. Cheap too. I'm comforted to see your SAH board has the same
discoloration... Maybe errant flux?

Cheers,
Cooper

Do these do exactly the same job David? Also, could you give us the DIP pin to Can-leg configuration. I am thinking it's not as simple as going just round the 8 pin socket - are there legs that cross over etc..?

Cheerz,
Tom

It's the same pinout. The die inside is the same - just different package.

Pinout is fine... My only concern is rogue oscillations. This configuration is working fine for you?
