[yamahacs80] Yamaha E-70

[yamahacs80] Yamaha E-70

2009-11-01 by Wavecomputer360

Hi all,

I´ve been told several times that the E-70 is in some respects very similar to the CS80 but I´ve never had the chance to actually play this organ. I was wondering whether I might use one of these to get some custom ICs for the CS80, e. g. oscillators or filters. Are they interchangeable? Kent? Crow?

Thanks,

Stephen.

I made this adjustment ....in KAS and SH.Find the 7's voice that I lost was from M#4(touchinh M boards like in Service manual CS80, and find all voices!)And change VR1 on KAS that was crashing and find black wires (TWO!) that was no join on KAS in E terminal. All works great, all in tune again, but that PORTAMENTO is not working....

The E-70 uses wavetable oscillators, not VCOs. It does use IG00155
filters, simllar in all respects to IG00156 save it has no keyboard
tracking CV input.

Slowly getting back to work on CS/GX electronics, its been too long.

Welcome back! Hope to hear what you're working on.

Hi,

I own both a CS80 and the E-70. The filter circuit on E-70 makes it sound somewhat similar, but not the same. There is no tuning problem with the E-70 due to the use of wavetable oscillators.

The buttons are the same as the CS-80 buttons. The funky preset sounds similar but the CS80 is raunchier, much deeper and more powerful (at least on mine). The E-70 is thinner but when you had the organ lower registers it fills out very nicely.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Arun
