CS80 tuning video

2009-06-06 by rj krohn

hey guys, someone at some point mentioned that they would like a video of a cs80 tuning. as i had some light touchups to do today on mine, i videotaped it. nothing drastic, but it basically took me through the entire process anyway, so i think its a rather comprehensive walkthrough, as long as you have the manual. its about 1/2 hr or so.

anyway, im not real big on capturing video, and editing or making wacky typesets and all that crap, as i generally would just rather be playing/practicing/recording, but if there was an easy place i could put it up online, id be willing to, mainly if there were some folks who would find it useful. (just realized i could capture it, and post a link via sendspace for it to be downloaded). does anyone still want this? if so, cool-ill do a link up. if not, ill mothball it and go play my awesome new T8 instead. either one if fine. lemme know, folks.....-rj

Yeah I'd definitely be interested. I've got a CS60 that desperately
needs the ADSR section of each voice calibrated but I'm not really
sure how to go about it.

Hi Everyone,

Here is a sampling of my two favorite noisemakers combined: Yamaha
CS80 + Eventide = audio nirvana.

Hope you enjoy. This was all done with one take, played live.

Great stuff - this is why we love CS80s! I used to use an SPX90 back in
the day, but the Eventide sounds much better.

Well ... yeah......

The Spx90 seemed to cheapen most tracks when our big studio was up and
running...except for a couple patches where the fidelity wasnt a key
issue with the outcome...

We  used it ..... usually as a doubler or chorus for electric
guitar or harmonica.....

We had 2 of the Steve Vai H3000 Eventide Harmonisers, along with 2
Lexicon 480L Verbs, a smokin AKG Verb(ADR 68k) and a bunch of roland
delay devices....(always wanted a prime time)...jammed together with a
studer analog and an 56 input SSL G console...

Ahh the good days.....before the bank took it all away.....   ;(.

I'd love to see your video. I tuned my 50 once, but I'm not sure about my technique :)

If there is no place on the archives, could you just post it on YouTube?  A sendspace link would also be fine by me.

Thanks,

Damon

You're welcome. I'd love to hear more atmospheric sounds from others
as well...
