tadam !!!! An other cs-80 saved from the dumpster .

tadam !!!! An other cs-80 saved from the dumpster .

working at 95% . The bugs left are from the rewiring , i have surely made some mistake on rewiring the 4 tone matrix boards . also need to find some fresher CD4006 .

The hardest part was to learn the schematic . and to lift the synth on the bench cause as you will in the video i am a skinny dude 200lbs is quite a load for me ;) .

the pw width lfo is bogus . Could be a simple return from the tone matrix .
tolex need to be replaced .
wood siding have to go to the piano finish shop . IS IT CHERRY WOOD !!!
miswired tone matrixs . ANd replace the temporary spliced wires .
Some parts still need to be find.
1 gate is not trigging ( wirering ? )

still got more than 50hrs of works.

here is the youtube link.

Yes it is the microsine butchered cs-80 . (an other) is misleading !

Hmm,, i can not use mouser in canada , they use UPS , ( 40$ custom charge ) . But i will probably find them at a local electro store .

Hi,

Wow! What a great job :)

This really is very inspirational! I am currently working on restoring a SynergyII+ and SynergyI with a microcontroller board, then, if I succeed I will take on the KAS board and a few other things in my CS80 --- it is very overdue for a complete overhaul but I have just been wary of all that wiring! I'll just have to go real slow but your story is really very inspiring.

Thanks :)

Hi thanks. You dont need the remove the wires , there is enough cable lenght to work , i did it to clean the boards , the boards was completely covered with a strange brown goopy stuff , was in a barn for 20yrs so , no wonder !

pwm is repaired , forgot to wire the pwm vco output .. hihihi

tonight is the silent voice repair time .. this one is more uncertain ,, VCA perhaps ,,,,.

next time !
