I know that nobody can compete with the immortal Tomita and it certainly was not the intention here. Having said that it was nevertheless tempting to do a CS80-only version of Bergamasque 3. I have set it up in the member music tracks folder and here: http://soundcloud.com/slippery-soles Cheers Worsel

Yes, very nice! Some of the notes and melodic phrases aren't given their due, but there was an amazing child-like beauty and innocence that came through with the patches you used for the piece. There's one sound you used that, I could have sworn, was a human voice, do you have the settings for this that you could share with the group? --- On Fri, 1/30/09, Laurie Curry <laurie@...> wrote:

To be more specific, it happens around 2'41"... Like a couple of people Ooo-ing. --- On Fri, 1/30/09, Tommy Priakos <tpriakos@...> wrote:

Yes... very, very nice. I always enjoy hearing synth'd up renderings of classical music, and this piece semms to fit the CS-80 so well. At first I thought you were playing it all in real time, but as we got into it, I realized there must be some multitracking going on. Nice choice of sounds. Beautiful recording, and after living with a badly calibrated unit myself for many years, it's delightful to hear how nice an 80 can sound when fully tuned and warmed-up and calibrated like it should. Bravo! So, what's the story behind your other Soundcloud track, "Running Out Of Time". I could swear I detected a few CS-80 sounds in there too. Thanks for sharing. -Tim S.

Hey Tommy, I am not sure I can replicate that voice patch (the joys of analogue, LOL). I guess it was a bandpassed sawtooth with noise and Chorus fully engaged. However it is based on the patch Fairlight voice that Max Fazio has done as omissus for the 80V. Hey Tim, thanks for your comment, I am flattered. I am fairly new to the CS80, so this was also an exercise in getting to know the machine better. Plus I had never ever done a one-synth- only-recording =;-). However, stable she is not, LOL. Recording with her is quite a challenge, I always have to find the right moment. It seems she is in tune when she is NOT warmed up properly. "Running out of time" is from my band and I am afraid it has nothing to do with the CS80 activities. The real analogue that you hear on the recording is from a DSI Evolver. Cheers Worsel --- In yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com, Tim Siefkes <timsks@...> wrote: > > Yes... very, very nice.
