KSR?

KSR?

2005-02-18 by wavecomputer360

Has anybody dealt with KSR in London? I came across their name on RLMusic´s website (http://www.rlmusic.co.uk/mals_site/sale_stock_01.html) where they mention an upgrade for the CS80. I´d be curious if this upgrade is available elsewhere.

How about compiling a revised service manual for a CS80? I read many warnings as to which parts in the original manual are utter nonsense and detrimental to your CS when performed, so how about gathering all knowledge and compile it?

Hi,

Yes KSR are very good on Cs80s.
The guys name that fixes them is Kent and he is very familiar with them, ive spoken to kent on a few occasions and he told me he repaired Vangelis's Cs80's!

Ill be sending mine down there when i pluck up the courage to attempt to move it down a flight of stairs.... : /
It keeps getting put off, but i have to save some cash up as its not cheap....

Im going to get the full works done, total cost i was quoted was £850, this is for full CMOS replacement, caps on PSU, decoupling on some boards, calibration...
Im going to get a Kenton kit fitted while its down there...

So, anyway, yes, if your in the UK and you have a Cs80 i would strongly recommend you send it down to Kent @ KSR.
It may be expensive but its certainly worth it imho.
Tell him i sent you, and maybe ill get a discount ; ) Heh..heh!

Best,
Rob.

Hi Rob,

thanks for the info. I guess it´s the guy who also fixed Pete Forrest´s
CS80. Unfortunately I´m in Germany, but anyway, I´ll mention your name to
him if I ever have the money to have my CS refurbished in England (maybe
during our next tour in 2019?).

Ta,

Stephen.
