CS80 patchsheets

CS80 patchsheets

2009-01-22 by erikfromhere

Since I couldn't find any decent patchsheet, and even the blank sheets
in my original owners manual are difficult to read, I made some blank
patchsheets myself. I uploaded a color- and black&white pdf in the
files section.

Maybe it would be nice to start a library with patches, based on these
patchsheets....

Thanks for making these and uploading them!

Another CS-80 track on Soundcloud

2009-01-28 by Tim Siefkes

I've added a second instrumental CS-80 track from my old 1980 prog band
archives to the Soundcloud site. This track is a lot shorter than that
first one, and the CS is used in more of a support role behind the lead
solo violin (so no big CS-80 solo this time). You could probably say
there's a Jean-Luc Ponty influence going on here. The CS-80 patch used
was an equal mix of 16' Organ1 and 4' Guitar2, with Sustain I set at the
lowest tick mark. I even wrote this down on the patch sheets which came
in very handy in those days!

This is really cool! I have most of the old Jean Luc Ponty albums, and
this is spot on. Excellent playing, and that tape flutter which makes me
feel so good :) Keep em coming if you have more, I'd love to have em all =)

Wow! Cool :)
I'm enjoying going through and listening to all the CS80 audio or
video posts and they each have their own unique character in the sound
- I can recognize how they've been done but each is unique.
Thank you!

Thanks, Fredrik. Our violinist was indeed a big fan of
Ponty (as we all were too in those days) and he even
played a pearl white Barcus Berry 5-string violin through
a phase shifter or chorus or something, which gave him
that similar tone. I wanted to write something to give him
a chance to shine in that style... we also covered a
couple of other J-LP songs, "New Country" and "Imaginary
Voyage" (parts 1&3 or something like that, can't quite
remember).
