CS60 stuck in "sustain II" mode

CS60 stuck in "sustain II" mode

2009-01-12 by skkatter

Apologies for bringing this up again, but I've just come back to my
CS60 after a bit of an absence.

So, the CS60 appears to be stuck in sustain II mode, no matter which
way the switch is switched. Does anybody know which pins on the switch
I should be checking with a multimeter to try and trace the problem?
Is there any safe way I could "short circuit" it into sustain I mode?
(If it's going to be stuck, I'd rather have it stuck in sustain I
mode)

Also, does anybody know any CS techs in Berlin? I've already talked to
the guy at Xtended but he's not too keen to take on any Yamaha CS work
unfortunately.

Hey Stephen,

Yamaha Germany is keeping a list of people who can fix a CS. Contact
them directly, they should be able to give you the name of a tech in
your area. Next stop could of course be KSR in London, but shipping
the CS will be very expensive.

Hi sTephen,

telling from my own experience, I´m afraid no official Yamaha service provider will touch a CS60, let alone a CS80. I got in touch with a company in my area (PMS in Minden) but they turned pale and declined politely...
I don´t know any tech in Berlin but I know a technician in Bielefeld who would not hesitate to touch a CS80, but he knows the value of his labour... I could also put you in touch with a very kind Dutchman who is not afraid of the bigger CS series synths.
If interested, you can get in touch with me off-list.
Cheers,
Stephen.
