CS80 legs?

CS80 legs?

2008-11-24 by bucklehorse

Hi all,

Realize this is a long shot, but thought I'd ask if anyone here has a
spare set of legs they'd be willing to part with, or who might
otherwise be willing to point me in the general direction of a
suitable not-too-ugly substitute? The CS80 will assume a place of
prominence in my living room and I'd rather not disrupt my carefully
curated Danish Modern vibe with an ugly black heavy duty x-stand if
possible...

These are amazing, look great and hold plenty of weight.

I found a set of original legs on eBay, but it took me almost a year.
Besides looking great, the original legs have a great feature: since
they bolt to the bottom of the CS80 and have rounded back sections, you
can fairly easily set up the CS80 from floor to stand by yourself. I've
also been able to slide CS80s from one side of a room to another, which
I wouldn't try without legs that bolted on.

thanks, stephen. that's a solid tip--discrete and a with a relatively small footprint. and cheap too--never a bad thing.

i do like the look and build of original CS80 legs despite their non-adjustable nature (involved sitting on a couple of phone books at a recent recording session) but i can't afford to be fussy at the moment--need the floor space!

cheers,

ted

im a lucky stock legs owner. the key to the height is a bar stool. it sits PERFECT. i also find i have better posture at the cs80 on a bar stool, than i do at say a hammond bench-hence more comfort. or maybe its just that colored drawbars are so much better to look at than black and white(sorry, little hammond, i still love you!).

I bought that Quiklok stand when I was just about to get an 80 and
then didn't :-(.

They certainly aren't bad and there are few if any other kbd stands
out there rated at 300lb., but it has more of a wiggle/wobble than I
like ( due to the height being adjustable ). It's not that bad but
it's a factor I can feel.

p.s. I've been using them with a Kurzweil MIDIBoard

Re: [yamahacs80] Re: CS80 legs?

Hmm... it seems like the only one I can find locally is the WS-550
(replacement for WS-540?) and it's only rated for 250lbs. With
the CS80 weighing in at 220lbs (maybe 210lbs with the lid off), I'm
wondering if this is a wise move, considering how much you have to lean
into the keys to engage aftertouch + velocity...

This is one synth I'd rather not have suffer the three-foot drop from a collapsed keyboard stand.

This is the stand I use for the CS-80. No issues with it at all. Proline PL-700Z. Rated at
375 lbs.

I'm using the same and so far it is great.
