new CS-80 owner; restoration advice?

2007-11-05 by rj krohn

hello all, as of a few hours ago, i have joined you proud cs-80 owners in heaven on earth! my apologies for any of my previous offers of purchase within the group, however, the only way i was able to source one was by basically blabbing as much as possible about being a potential buyer.

so here's my question; my unit is fully functioning(needs a bit of tuning/calibration), however, as with anything i own thats old and analog, i plan on at least replacing all the elec. caps in the PSU. im wondering; are there any other things i should swap out now to ensure a longer life for the instrument?

thanks so much for any other advice!

Hi and congratulations on your CS. You might want to replace all tantalium caps as well as they are prone to failure as I´ve been told.

Stephen
