Re: [yamahacs80] The usage of String 1 and String 2 presets.

2006-05-10 by Tommy Priakos

I use String 3 and then refer to the manual to replicate String 3
with one of the Memory buttons or Panel II, so I have virtually
the same sound on both I and II, then I can detune Channel II
and get a little extra thickness going. I've done this with String 1
and 2, as well, but it doesn't sound as good.

with a diagonal pattern, String 1 w/String 4, or most often for me,
String 3 w/String 2. And almost always with the Chorus on, and
aftertouch modulations of course. The string presets maybe aren't the
strongest patch in isolation, but tend to work better (maybe) with other
instruments playing.

My CS-80 ownership just dates back to one month only. Although I am
immensely impressed by the CS-80's musicality, there is one point that
still remains quite unclear to me: The usage of the String 1 and String
2 presets...

I have found the other presets to be generally quite musical and
effective. But what about the String1 and String 2 ?
