My CS-80 ownership just dates back to one month only. Although I am
immensely impressed by the CS-80's musicality, there is one point that
still remains quite unclear to me: The usage of the String 1 and String
2 presets...
I have found the other presets to be generally quite musical and
effective. But what about the String1 and String 2 ? How do you use
these two presets? I find them very bright and harsh to layer each
other in a dual strings patch or to layer any other sound that the CS-
80 produces.
Lessening the brightness does not even help much.
Ironically, this poor combination is the first sound you hear every
time you turn on any CS-80.
Do I miss anything about this sounds? Could Yamaha have wasted two
valuable memory locations by two awful string sounds on a synthesizer
that can actually produce breath taking string sounds?
