Hey Matrix: You should post some clips for the mod CS-60.... BTW does anyone knows where I can find schematics for a CS-60? Also are there schematics for adding CV/gate outputs? Thanks.... --- In yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com, "matrix" <matrixsynth@h...> wrote: > > Looks like I spoke too soon. Turning the AUX voices on and sending an arpeggiation IN does not cycle through the voices, but rather plays up to three voices at a time. So you can have an arpeggiation driving three OSCs at the same time. If you switch 8 to 4 to try and double that, it seem like a note hangs rather than having a 6 OCS arp going. Also, the Tune knob to the right of 2 only affects 2 and the knob to the right of 3 only affects 3. There is no Tune knob for AUX 1. > > -matrix > http://www.matrixsynth.com/blog > ____________________________ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: matrix > To: yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2005 2:20 PM > Subject: Re: [yamahacs80] Yamaha CS-60 modification > > > I think I just figured it out! > > The obvious: > 1. The 8/4 switch goes between 8 and 4 voices where 8 is one OSC per voice and 4 is two per voice, as you'd expect. > 2. The tune knob seems to detune the voices to make the sound richer, but it's obviously easy to make it sound too out of tune > > What was not so obvious: > 3. The Aux 1, 2, and 3 switches when alow you to disable up 1, 2, or 3 voices from being triggered from the keyboard. There's a CV IN and Trigg mod on the back. If you feed an Arpeggiation through the CV IN, each of the three voices that are switched will sound. The Tune knobs adjust the pitch of each. So you can have an arpegiation going, adjust the picts for each and play along with it. Very nice. > > Cheers, > -matrix > http://www.matrixsynth.com/blog > ____________________________ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: carlos cestero > To: yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2005 10:21 AM > Subject: Re: [yamahacs80] Yamaha CS-60 modification > > > Thanks for the pic very nice...Can you tell us more about that mod or actually the features of that Mod? > > > > matrix <matrixsynth@h...> wrote: > Period messed up the URL. This is on mine. I actually really, really like it and leave it on most of the time. The sound is much fuller layered but obviously you get cut down to 4 voices. Mine came this way, so I couldn't help implementing the mod myself. > > -matrix > http://www.matrixsynth.com/blog > ____________________________ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: JH. > To: yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Thursday, December 01, 2005 12:48 PM > Subject: Re: [yamahacs80] Yamaha CS-60 modification > > > In my CS60, such a mod was done. > The Gate signals were simply connected together in pairs (with a switch), > apparently > forming some weird wired-OR. > In a 3rd switch position, the Gates were connected in two quadruples, > obviously > aiming at a two-voice, 4-note stack. > First thing I did was getting rid of this modification. > It _sort_of_ worked, but not really perfectly.
