For example, the KBC boards use the note/octave codes to generate the Brilliance & Level High/Low. This really has to be done in the KAS chip, so it would have to be replaced by a PIC or FPGA. Of course, if you're going to do this, you'd also implement MIDI in/out, different voice assignment mode (low-note priority, etc), and lots of other stuff. I've thought about doing this, but then I got better :^) David
