I’ve installed 4 (soon to be 5) of these and never heard of this problem. It’s a really complicated, tricky install and you could mess up lots of things if you make a mistake!
Here’s a ton of pictures from the first install I did of this:
On later installs, I mounted the switch, pushbutton, and MIDI jacks in the power-cord storage compartment. Much easier and no drilling holes in the case or front panel!!!
