I've had good luck bending CS80 keyboard contacts back into shape, even when they were as bent-up as the ones you showed. They must be made of good quality spring steel. I just held one end in place using needle-nose pliers. and then bent the other end by hand. I had to overbend them a little, and then they would end up approximately back where they belong. Of course there's always a chance one could break while being bent. jkjelec ----- Original Message ----- From: "lt_picard_voyager" <blueridge@...> To: yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, March 2, 2012 3:52:37 AM Subject: [yamahacs80] CS-80 key contact blade springs Hi, I have some bended key contacts in my CS-80. I could try to bend the springs back in the original shape. It will be difficult because it is very tiny and has to be done with surgeon precision and I do not want to do it anymore harm. Before I do that I would like to know if somebody has a spare PCB `Yamaha LC 21 571 JCI-AK H' completely with the springs on it, so I can use it as an easy drop in replacement? You can find pictures of the print I am searching on my flickr account : http://www.flickr.com/photos/41267611@N06/sets/72157629112502438/ Anybody has other tips or advice on tools or techniques to adjust the springs back in original shape? Already I purchased a 2nd hand Yamaha CP-30 piano. This piano has the same keyboard in it. But the prints with the key contact springs are not identical as in the CS-80. Although the black plastic key spring holders and the contact springs it selves are the same. This week I phoned with Kent Spong. Kent told me he tried once do use contact springs from a Yamaha CP-20. He desoldered the springs. But the springs are clicked in the black plastic holder and not removable. Removing the springs from the holder would be destructive. So I do not suspect that will be a success to try. Any advice, I would be grateful, Greetings, Lt ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
