the spring contact did break....and is now soldered back together as a
temporary fix...

I failed at the removal attempt....

I'm not 100% sure what you're referring to. Here's a pic from when I

Can you circle the part you're talking about. Better yet, take a
picture 
of your keyboard, showing the problem. A picture is worth a thousand
words!
