This brass is one of the brass presets from the User banks... The strings is a tweaked version of the stock strings.... I am using a SQ80 for polyAT controll .... and yes... cant wait for the Vax..... For a reall unique sound.... you should check the Haken Continuum controller....which now comes with a string preset built in some how....designed by Ed Eagan....(the first keyboardist in FIST). http://www.hakenaudio.com/Continuum/html/examples/ex246.html http://www.hakenaudio.com/Continuum/html/overview/Intro.html -----Original message----- From: "Stephen Teller" s.teller@verizon.net Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2009 10:56:44 -0700 To: yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com Subject: [yamahacs80] Re: Arturia..!? VAX77 Where did you get these presets???? These are great demos! I just got a hold of an Ensoniq SQ80 and the polyAT is working pretty well with the CS80V in my limited time I've spent with it. I think with the CS80V it's about as close as there is for a VI at this point. I also look at it as a different synth and use many of the non CS type presets also. On a side note: I tried the VAX 77 at the NAMM show. They were really nice guys and eager to please the CS80 user, but I was under impressed. The feel was spongy and the sound source being used wasn't set up for Poly AT patches. Maybe if they had it setup with the CS80V with some cool patches I might have been more impressed.
