Hey Andrew, I have an 80V and an 80 and for the fun of it I try to copy patches from the 80V to the 80 all the time. Having said that it is not always easy. I agree that the 80V mostly sounds like a regular VA, however it does have some cool sounds that do not make use of the additional features of the V and still I can't get a similiar sound out of the 80. If you want, send me some shots of your favourite patches and sound clips and I will give it a try.
