Yamaha CS80

Okay....

This is completely backward with my tuning proceedure....

1 make sure detuneII is centred and the dual pitch tuning is
centred....

mix 1 for 1-8, mix 2 for 9-16...

open her up....

As I know it.....the little blue ten turn pot....is the "pitch" of the
2 foot osc...

adjust holding A1 with a plastic screwdriver....clockwise flattens,
counter clockwise sharpens.....

.....the next larger trimpot is the Octave scaling Calibration
(guitarist would call this intonation) between lower and upper (set
using 2 foot on A5)...Turn clockwise to compress the range-(A1
sharpens as A5 flattens) or counter clockwise to expand the range (A1
flattens as A5 Sharpens)...then re adjust little blue on
A1...repeating until all 2 foot oscillators are bang on at both A1
and A5....

from this point it gets much easier  as the trimpots aren't so touchy
.....the next trimpot is the 4 foot tune offset......counter clockwise
sharpens....setfor all then

.....the next trimpot is the 8 foot tune offset....counter clockwise
sharpens....set for all then

almost done champ

.....the next trimpot is the 16 foot tune offset.......counter
clockwise sharpens.....you will find the trimpots are much easier in
this range....

Close her all up and play with the mix in the middle....listening for
beating......repeat procedure if neccessary...

figure i'd save david a little breath....

-voice 8-correct. 1 note sustained +7 notes triggered=voice 8

-trim pots, from top:
-little blue one-scale
-2
-4
-8
-16
YOU MUST DO THIS FROM THE TOP DOWN!!! 2' offsets all other octaves. (
have forgotten this several times!)

STABILITY: maybe want to redo the thermal grease on the VCO chips?
other than that, i would guess you might not be getting consistent
voltage supplied to the cards, unless it is the same voice always
falling out of tune. good luck.

Hey David.

So my CS80 is out of tune again. It isn't dramaticly off, but it is
off a good +12, or +25 centson some voices.

Do you know why this is happening? How do we get stable tunning so I
don't have to open this thing up every week? Also, where on the card
do I jiggle to see which Voice I am on?

Also, to find Voice 8, I need to hold a note down, then press A untill
I find Voice 8 correct?

Also, what is the first POT on the voice cards? I think I might have
turned those first pots by mistake.
