Even though we have hundreds of people on our mailing list, we cannot find an economically viable way to make these presentations. With 53 people in LA and 37 in NYC and no other single population center with more than 18 potential customers on our list, the cost of the road show was prohibitive forthe exposure it would have given our product. So here is the new plan. A single model of the VAX77 will be available through retail channels. This will be the 42 gram keyweight, gloss black version. Obviously, we hope to convince GuitarCenter to carry the product and we are actively pursuing regional retailers as well. Through this network of authorized dealers, we will take customer orders for the other colors and keyweights and ship these orders overnight directly to the dealer. We sincerely apologize for this change in direction, but for the majority of our potential customers (especially international customers), this will allow them to experience the VAX77 much sooner. The VAX77 is complete and ready for full scale production except for one small plastic part that is being beefed up as a result of life testing. The new injection molding tool for that part will be ready for production in 3-4 weeks. Later this month, we will update this web site with pictures of the production product (the VAX77 isn’t vaporware anymore). It will show how we implemented a Pitch Bend wheel and a Modulation slider within the confines of the current design specifications. It will also explain why we used touch screen inputs for some things and buttons for others. We’ll also go into more detail on the new user interface and the Patch Librarian software that is included with the product. Soon after,we’ll begin an application notes section where we can share the quickest ways to get up and running with various setups. For example, Apple Logic/Mainstage doesn’t offer a way to export a CONCERT. We’ll show you how we used the Patch Librarian to download CONCERT presets into the VAX77. Thanks you for staying with us. The VAX77 took far more time and cost a lot more to develop than we ever imagined, but we think you’ll like the result. I don¹t believe anything has been heard from them for several months but I may be wrong. Anybody heard from them or actually seen an actual unit in person? As far as key weight goes, the CS80 is much lighter than a regular piano action. I don¹t have a set of piano technician weights but my guess is that you would be looking at the lower end of that keyweight range.
