Hi RJ, Could be a cap with a dry joint on the PRA board. Or a dry joint on one of the wires leading into the PRA board. The pedel should be plugged in while the 80 is off. And don't plug it into the wrong socket as this will blow the 15V track clean off the back of the PRA board. Hope this helps ya! --- In yamahacs80@yahoogroups.com, rj krohn <r_j_d_2.phila@...> wrote: > > hi folks-im wondering if anyone has experienced this? my cs80 will randomly get a distortion on the output, and it will then randomly go away. it will never last longer than 5-7 seconds at a time, and it doesnt seem to be "control induced" in any way. (it sounds alot like a preamp does with the gain all the way up(signal still comes through). im going to be recording with it in a little while, so i kinda would like to clear this up. any leads on this? > > also, i have heard a horror story(old crow site maybe?) about shorting things out by plugging in an expression pedal. i have yet to do this on my 80. any advice? plug it in before i turn it on? should i be worried, or no? > > thanks guys!!! > > > --------------------------------- > Get easy, one-click access to your favorites.
