Yamaha CS80

I know, tell me about it!  I regret having done that to mine and spoiling it cosmetically.

There was enough lead in the wiring, and space in the back, to allow this switch to go to the back panel next to the Midi ports. It would have been a bit of a reach, but the front panel would have been left in its original state.

Sometimes it's cool to not follow directions.
