It may be blasphemy, but I'd take an Origin over a 100-lb analog rack. 
And, the DSP and VSTs are getting better all the time and the computers
are getting faster and cheaper. Within five, or ten years at the most, I
think it's going to be hard to justify analog hardware, even for most of
us fanatics.

I agree that someday this will be needed.  However, at least on the five CS80s + CS60 I've worked on, I haven't seen any Yamaha parts go bad.  All the failures I've seen were either 4xxx CMOS or generic op-amps.


What have other people seen?
