It could use a bunch of knobs/sliders, program-change buttons (why are
these missing on most new controllers?), and a ribbon.  One of these
(www.sweetwater.com/store/closeup/ReMOTEslZeRO--Main) on top should get
it most of the way there!  Or, even better, this:

CS80 emulation.

p.s. - Google Earth says it's a 1400 mile drive and should take 22
hours!  Almost 1300 miles is a straight ride on the I-10 - I could
actually use my cruise control, which is fairly useless in Southern
California.
