2002-12-07 by Andy <e_flat4me@yahoo.com>

hi all.
new to this group, was hoping somebody out there can help me with
a repair .... one note is striking at TOP volume. the tech folks at
kurzweil wont help and i dont have the time to send it in. also if
anybody knows where to get a service manual that would also help.
i can repair most of the stuff i've got including a few old ARPS and
KORGS. all help welcomed.
thanx,
andy

One key playing at maximum volume is sometimes caused by a dirty key
contact. Some synthesizers use two contacts per key to sense how
fast a key is pressed - one contact is designed to close before the
other, and the time between them is proportional to how fast you play
the key. If one contact doesn't work properly, you sometimes get a
key that always plays very loud.

Hi
your problem is due to dust or weak contact in that particular key
open up the contact board and clean the contacts
I think this will solve your problem
