Unless, of course, you manage to sell a LOT of grass.

I tend to think the grass sale would be more ethical!

Good for you.

Uh huh. Check the price lists from the 70's, sport. Your $400
Arp....in perfect, as new shape? New tolex/real documents(not copies)
completely refurbished and completely solid?

Cool! Pass the info onto them, won't you?

I would have a better profit margin if I was selling grass.

How so, sport? Last time I checked we still had a free market system
here in the US of A...so what's yer point? No money to buy gear or
just another bored, loudmouthed internet busybody? Hmm?

I suggest you gentlemen check some price lists as to what this stuff
is going for these days. I agree. Too much money. And these are only
worth what someone is willing to pay. Whats-his-name in LA (Chris
Youdell) has a Wurlitzer 200 electric piano listed on his site for
$1200...... how is that, or my prices, unethical? If someone wants
this stuff bad enough they can pay my price....or I can keep the
piece. Simple as that, Bummer.

Y'know I posted a message looking for a Moog tech and not one of you
responded to that post yet several of you have now deemed yourselves
blue book experts... and eager to bitch about my prices. If ya think
they're out of line you are free to not buy anything from me.

Does anyone in this group actually work on synths for a living? It has
been my experience that most gear techs often want something for
nothing or next to nothing... I guess that includes working.

Somebody respond to the Moog tech post...prove me wrong.

The free market makes what you do legal, not
necessarily ethical. Those are two very different
things.

I'd be able to answer your technical questions... if I
had any experience with modular Moogs... but I don't
because I can't afford them... because people like you
have priced them out of my budget! But hey, if you
want to sell me one of your synths really cheap, I
could probably look it over and learn a thing or two
about it. :)

No Offensive Words

2002-07-25 by Emiliano .

I think somebody here is naively behaving in regards
to vintage synth prices. That is a matter of personal
opinion...
What does not amuse me at all is when I read offensive
messages related to geographycal areas.
Do I sound confusing? I'll give one example.
Dear, mzape (mozape@...) you don't amuse me at all
when you label certain people as "euro-trash" or
"asian-geeks".
Several users are probably too kind, or maybe
intelligent enough, that they will not reply to your
offensive words.
My point is not to stop discussion, which is really
important. Nevertheless, keep your mouth close if you
know you are going to offend somebody else.
To my knowledge, freedom does not mean indiscriminate
swearing on others?
Got the idea, mzape?
I would like to ask the moderator to remove this guy
from this list.
If this does not happen, don't worry, I'll remove
myself from the list.
It makes me sick to read certain offensive words,
period.

Emiliano.

I resemble this remark! On my mother's side is French-Dutch-Spanish-
Caribbean, my father's side is Sicilian-Spanish-Filipino-Chinese!
Hence, I know which I speak, and my words were meant to be "tongue-in-
cheek" {pun is intended)---you obviously have no sense of humor and
my commentary went over your head---mea culpa, escusare, and lo
siento mucho!

Yes, that some people can't understand humor!

If this happens, so be it........but....

WHICH side offended you? I consider myself to be both "asian-geek"
(my filipino-chinese roots) and "euro-trash" (my french-dutch-spanish-
sicilian roots) and the fact that my bloodline is a true "melting-
pot" of world culture. I would like to believe that we can all laugh
at ourselves---political correctness is getting way out of hand!
Emiliano, mon frere, (my cousin has the same name), you gotta lighten
up! PLEASE feel free to respond...
Sincerely,
Maximo
