Sourcing MM5832 Divider chips?

Sourcing MM5832 Divider chips?

2012-01-03 by adhmzaiusz

Hi there, does anyone know where to find a MM5832 divider? After buying a EML Synkey it appears that this chip died and now both the root oscillator and oscillators 5 to 8va don't work. Talk about bad luck, I only got to use the thing about 4 times.

I tried this website http://www.armory.com/~rstevew/Public/SoundSynth/TopOctave/topdividers.html but it appears they are long out of business since their emails bounce back and their phone is out of service. If anyone can help point me in the right direction that would be great!!

Greg

Best of luck getting one of those- I wasted no end of time trying to get one for a customer's Hammond X5 and everybody who said they had one actually didn't. Modify your EML to use a different TOS chip.

Re: Sourcing MM5832 Divider chips?

I just got an email back from WD Greenhill, they do have the MM5832 in stock but they want 72.45 british pounds for it!!!! That is by far the most i've seen any IC cost. I just purchased the Flatkeys thing, it was way more reasonably priced!
